Dutch Yellowtail Tataki

Ingredients:

  • Dutch Yellowtail loin (back part) without skin
  • Own salad


Ingredients for the dressing:

  • Mayonnaise of your choice
  • Soy sauce
  • Extra taste of your choice (e.g.  ginger, garlic, pepper etc)

 

Preparation:

Prepare in advance:

  • Ice cubes in a bowl of water 

How to make Tataki:

  • Defrost the Dutch Yellowtail until it is half frozen
  • Open the package and wipe the extra moisture from the fish with kitchen paper
  • Put some oil into the pan and heat it until some smoke comes up
  • Fry the fish for about 5 – 10 seconds for all three sides.
  • Put the fish in the water with ice cubes
  • When the fish has cooled down, take it out and wipe the water completely dry with kitchen paper
  • Slice the fish thinly and place it on the plate with the salad of your choiceMix 3 parts mayonnaise with 1 part soy sauce and add those extra taste of your choice. Sprinkle the dressing over both the fish and the salad.
