We raise our fish on land.
We use new generation RAS (recirculating aquaculture systems) technology to raise premium quality fish in the most sustainable way possible.
RAS works by taking water from the sea to fill basins on-land for our fish to swim in. This makes it easier to optimize the fish’s climate, food, and overall wellbeing.
We use filtered seawater in our land-based RAS facility to create the most optimal environment for our fish. That means fish health and welfare come first.
Reducing our carbon foot print is important to us.
We track the carbon emissions of all our activities (energy, fleet, fuel, waste and water) and will be doing a full life cycle assessment on our final products. We have set emission targets in place to ultimately be able to operate at carbon neutral status.
Certifications are our benchmark.
In our experience the organizations we work with are remarkably thorough in their assessments, and have reviewed and scrutinized all aspects of our activities, ranging from the sourcing of feed and energy, to social responsibility, food safety and environment protection.
We operate transparently and welcome 3rd party reviews, and continuously work to raise the bar on best practices, with efforts such as operating in the Netherlands on 100% renewable energy, and raising our Dutch Yellowtail without antibiotics, GMO, medications, or hormones.
We strive to protect local waterways, wildlife, and community resources.
We care about the ocean, the environment and the planet and thus work towards a zero impact operation. We have aligned our company targets to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
