Dutch Yellowtail Tataki Salad

  • Dutch Yellowtail loin (back part) without skin
  • Own salad

Ingredients for the dressing: 

  • Mayonnaise of your choice
  • Soy sauce
  • Extra taste of your choice (e.g.  ginger, garlic, pepper etc)

Prepare in advance:

  • Ice cubes in a bowl of water

How to make Tataki:

  1. Defrost the Dutch Yellowtail until it is half frozen 
  2. Open the package and wipe the extra moisture from the fish with kitchen paper
  3. Put some oil into the pan and heat it until some smoke comes up 
  4. Fry the fish for about 5 – 10 seconds for all three sides.
  5. Put the fish in the water with ice cubes
  6. When the fish has cooled down, take it out and wipe the water completely dry with kitchen paper
  7. Slice the fish thinly and place it on the plate with the salad of your choice

    Mix 3 parts mayonnaise with 1 part soy sauce and add those extra taste of your choice. Sprinkle the dressing over both the fish and the salad.
